Diabetes: Accucheck Test Strips
June 19, 2008 1:06 pm Diabetes, Health & FitnessThere are many types of Accucheck test strips. There are two reasons for this. One is that there are several types of Accucheck glucometers. Another reason is that different test strips provide different functions. Sometimes more than one test strip can be used with a single blood glucose meter.
Information about Accucheck Test Strips
There are, of course, always the most basic Accucheck test strips. The most popular model of Accucheck glucose meters is the Accucheck Active meter. It is no surprise that Accucheck Active test strips are their most popular counterparts. A bonus of these and other Accucheck test strips is that they have a unique shape designed to fit fingers better for easier blood application.
Accucheck test strips usually come in packages of 50 strips. There is an exception to this. Accucheck Compact test strips come in packages of 51 strips. They are designed to use with the Compact meter, which uses a 17-test drum cartridge for convenience. This eliminates the need to carry around a vial of strips.
Compact strips are an example of strips designed with a particular meter in mind. This is not always the case. The best way to be sure of compatibility is to check ahead of time. Read the packaging, and if you are still not sure, it is best to ask.
